Fireplace Remodel
Fireplace Remodel
The fireplace in the initial build was taller than I wanted. It blocked the view to the courtyard when sitting in the dining room, and closed off the living room more than desired. So… I dug into the sheetrock to see what was underneath the whole structure. I took it apart, cut it down, rebuilt the underlying structure, routed some cords while inside, put it back together, textured the new sheetrock, painted, added blue glass & a coordinating table on 1 side, installed Van Gogh gray glass on the other side, and—merely a few months later—it was finished as low as I could get it without getting a smaller fireplace inset. The only part of the project I didn’t do myself was the sheetrock texturing.
The new “Room with a View” makes me happy.
